About

For much more information about me, visit my website at https://laurawaltonlmft.com I am licensed in Arizona and Maine. I offer in-person therapy in Arizona, and online therapy in Maine. You may be coming to therapy after a loss or life transition that has shaken your sense of who you are. This might be the death of someone you love, or another change that has left life feeling unfamiliar in ways that are hard to name or move through. On the outside, you may still be functioning, but inside things feel different - confusion, emotional reactivity, numbness, overwhelm, or a sense of disconnection from yourself. Many people describe this as living in survival mode while life keeps moving around them. You’re looking for a place to slow things down. A space where you don’t have to hold it all together. Where you can begin to feel more grounded in your body and emotions, and start rebuilding a steadier, more connected sense of who you are and how you want to live. I offer grief therapy, trauma-informed therapy, hypnotherapy, and ketamine-assisted therapy for adults in Arizona and Maine. My work supports healing after grief, trauma, and major life transitions, helping you move beyond understanding what happened into deeper emotional integration, regulation, and lasting change. This work is not only about insight - it’s also about helping your system feel safe enough to shift. Together, we work with what feels stuck, overwhelming, or shut down, so that things can begin to move again in a way that feels more tolerable and more true to you. I understand what it can feel like to keep going after the death of someone you love, and how disorienting it can be when something fundamental in you has changed. Therapy with me is steady, warm, and collaborative. It’s a space where we go at your pace, with care and attention to what feels most important and most possible right now. The goal is not to return to who you were before, but to support you in building a life that fits who you are becoming now. If this resonates with you, let's talk. *In lieu of accepting insurance, I operate as an out-of-network private-pay practice. This allows for greater clinical flexibility, including longer session lengths, individualized pacing of treatment, confidentiality protections, and treatment decisions that are not driven by insurance requirements such as diagnosis-based necessity criteria, session caps, or ongoing utilization review. Because this model can create financial barriers for some clients, I reserve a limited number of reduced-fee appointments. Please contact me to learn more.
